Redflex wins expanded NSW mobile speed camera program

Australia's New South Wales Roads and Maritime Services has awarded Redflex Traffic Systems the contract to provide around forty REDFLEXradarcam in-vehicle mobile speed camera systems for the State's expanded mobile enforcement program.

The first speed enforcement system to use dual radar technology, REDFLEXradarcam provides unmatched detection accuracy across up to six lanes of approaching or receding traffic. Dual radar technology eliminates the usual radar anomalies such as phantom signals, reflections and other noise-related issues, allowing the system to be operated at sites where traditional radar technology would fail.

Redflex has been operating an interim program in New South Wales since 2010, involving the delivery of 930 enforcement hours per month. The expanded program is to deliver 7000 hours per month when fully operational, a percentage of which will be delivered by Redflex.

Comments Redflex CEO, Ricardo Fiusco: "The interim program delivered a significant reduction in road trauma in New South Wales. We look forward to continuing to work with the Roads and Maritime Services to improve road safety throughout the state."
