About Us
Innovation has been a hallmark of Redflex for a quarter century. With the continuous development of new safety products, we’re able to reduce more collisions and save more lives, year after year.
Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Redflex Traffic Systems North America operates about 3,000 photo enforcement systems in 250 cities across the United States and Canada. A 2011 study from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety found these systems are helping to save hundreds of lives every year. In Chicago, America’s largest program for intersection safety cameras, red-light running decreased by 32 percent once cameras were installed. In Santa Ana, California, the reduction was 44 percent. And in Chandler, Arizona, red-light violations fell by 79 percent.
And that’s just Redflex red-light cameras. Our speed enforcement cameras help fight one of the biggest killers on North American roads – driving too fast. We also help save lives by monitoring railroad crossings and stop signs. Federal highway statistics show that speeding contributes to as many roadway deaths as drunken driving.
In 2012, we’re introducing two great new products that place even more focus on safety.
- Student Guardian™ is a photo enforcement solution designed to make school bus stops safer for children by helping police enforce laws against driving past a stopped school bus.
- Halo™ – one of our greatest innovations yet – saves innocent drivers and their passengers by holding cross traffic when it senses a driver is about to run a red light.
After 25 years of creative safety solutions, it’s hard to imagine what innovations the next 25 years will bring. One thing we know for sure: traffic safety cameras will continue to save lives.
