Chandler officials announce progress
CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Redflex cameras at 12 Chandler intersections are capturing nearly 2,000 red light runners and speeders every month, according to an April 17 report by The Arizona Republic.
Chandler is collecting nearly $100,000 each month through the photo enforcement program.
Police reported in 2007 that accidents had been decreased at initial camera intersections.
Redflex cameras are believed to have a significant impact on driver behavior in the busy Phoenix suburb, coupled with new police speed-enforcement digital reader boards.
