REDFLEXplatescan®
REDFLEXplatescan® uses the world’s leading technology to provide license plate recognition to law enforcement. Its advanced digital technology has been used to locate and recover stolen vehicles, assist in surveillance for narcotics teams, find abducted children, protect access to mission-critical facilities, help detect serious serial-criminal activity and help protect our international borders.
Platescan uses intelligent neural network technology to enhance its optical character recognition (OCR) system, providing greater accuracy during the capture of license plate images as vehicles pass REDFLEXplatescan® cameras, either fixed or mobile.
In real time, each license plate is cross-checked against local, regional and national police databases. As soon as a match occurs, the closest officer is alerted, allowing the officer to take fast, appropriate action. The complete process—targeting, scanning, recognition and comparison—takes about one second. REDFLEXplatescan® is the most advanced Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) technology available today.
