REDFLEXspeed® Point-to-Point represents a significant advancement in technology designed to modify driver behavior. Point-to-Point enforcement influences drivers to reduce speed not just at one location, but for a prolonged distance, decreasing the risk of accidents and improving overall traffic flow.

Our Point-to-Point technology monitors a vehicle’s speed between multiple points on a stretch of road and produces accurate speed measurements at each. The speeding vehicle is detected and photographed as it travels between the locations. The system, which uses optical character recognition (OCR) and is synchronized to the same time source, records exactly when each photo was taken. By comparing where the vehicle was in the first and subsequent photos, the system is able to calculate the vehicle’s average speed between two points.
